Finishing is one of the most important aspects of the furniture making process. Finishing a piece can take as long as the making. Choice of finish often depends on the final purpose of the piece. Hard wearing, heat-resistant surfaces will require lacquer, while oil and wax finishes serve to bring out the natural beauty of the woods.
